Who Bought Their House? Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck, and Adam Levine

2018 was a great year for luxury real estate, with some of our favorite celebrities buying and selling their beautiful homes, including JLo and the lovely couple John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. In general, the real estate market is cooling down a bit, but that does not seem to be the case for celebrities looking to expanding or spinning off their real estate portfolios. It is only the first month into 2019, and the real estate world is already booming with some note-worthy property for sale and celebrity home-swaps.

Nothing makes us feel better than hearing that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck finally, finally, sold their luxury mansion in Pacific Palisades, more than three years after they announced their divorce in 2015. But that is not the best part. Guess who the buyer is….

Yes, indeed! It is People’s Sexiest Man Alive and the lead singer of Maroon 5, Adam Levine, and his Victoria’s Secret supermodel wife Behati Prinsloo!

Affleck and Garner first bought this property back in 2009 for $17.6 million. Designed by the famous architect Cliff May in 1940, this property comes with 3 acres of land, over 8,000 square feet of space, four fireplaces (although we do wonder if you need even one fireplace in Los Angeles), a swimming pool, basketball court, gym, and an art studio. Affleck and Garner spent tons renovating this 5-bedroom, 8-bathroom mansion. Following the divorce, it became vital that they divide this millions-of-dollar-worth asset.

With their fame and all the attention followed the divorce, it is no wonder why the deal was done off the market. What we do know, however, is that Affleck and Garner asked for $45 million, and the Voice coach eventually bought it for $32 million, 28 percent lower than the asking price. Did the twosome overvalue this ranch-like property?

However, it remains unknown whether Levine and Prinsloo will actually move into this mansion, and if so, how long they will stay. The couple has had a few real estate transactions in the past few of years. In the fall of 2016, they sold the 2,800-square-foot Manhattan condo for $5.3 million, only after two years of ownership, according to property records. Shortly after the sale, they moved on listing their uber fancy Mansion in Holmby Hills for sale in November 2017, only four months after the original purchase, four months! The 5-bedroom and 5.5-bathroom property had an asking price of $18.9 million and eventually sold for $18 million, or $1,952/SF, in February 2018.

You think that’s it? Not so fast. In the summer of 2016, the power couple also listed their lavishly renovated 3.66-acre estate in Beverly Hills for at $17.5 million, then at $15.9 million. The property was on the market for over a year, and finally, in the spring of 2018, was sold to John Mayer, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. With so many properties in their real estate portfolio, it is no doubt that Levine and Prinsloo are joining Taylor Swift, Ellen DeGeneres, Leonardo DiCaprio, and many of the real estate moguls in the entertainment industry. It would be interesting to see how the couple would renovate this 8,800-square-foot estate.

Since it is an off-market deal, there are no interior photos of the Pacific Palisades mansion available online. But it would be such a waste of time if we don’t include some images of the lavish homes our celebrities own in a celebrity real estate blog post. So, here are some photos of John Mayer’s new favorite, the beautifully-renovated property in the Beverly Crest area.
