She was born in Oklahoma City and graduated from Oklahoma State University. She also has a degree in Aviation Technology from Mountain View College and was a Certified Instrument Flight Instructor. Prior to getting into real estate, Jan was a corporate jet pilot and flew a Lear 25 for a Houston oil firm.
