Garden. Spend time reading a book gazing out at the lush greenery

29 Perry is a 10 unit pet friendly cooperative established in 1985. There are 2 apartments per floor. Bike storage, storage cages and laundry is available in the basement. The coop allows 80% financing. While primary ownership is preferred pied-a-terre ownership is considered on a case-by-case basis. There is an assessment for this home of $745.05 that runs through January, 2021.
Here is some history excepted from the internet that describes the history of 29 Perry and its environs: "Originally built in 1871 with 20 apartments the building began a new life in the 1920s when it was purchased by the Church of St. John the Evangelist around the corner on Waverly Place. Near the turn of the 20th century the Church was in danger of being surrounded by overcrowded tenements and rundown boarding houses according to the history provided by Church records. In an effort to keep stable the area adjoining the Church property the vestry began acquiring one by one the surrounding buildings on Perry Street and West 11th Street to form what became known as the St. John's Colony. By the 1920s Greenwich Village had become a haven for artists and the Church envisioned an artists' colony with a communal garden that joined the rear of the Church. As the adjacent 19th century houses and buildings were purchased gradually St John's Colony took shape. Drab tenements and rooming houses were renovated into apartments of distinction and charm. Rear yard fences were removed, rubbish cleared away, and the little backyards were thrown into one communal garden (unfortunately no longer in existence). It was around this time that 29 Perry's entrance, lobby and apartments were remodeled into their current form with two equal-sized apartments per floor resulting in 10 apartments in the building. And this configuration remains to this day."
If you are looking for a wonderfully quiet and sun flooded place to call him look no further. Apartment 3-R at 29 Perry Street truly embodies everyone's romantic notion of West Village living.
