This neoclassical style building was originally designed by Trowbridge & Livingston — the same architecture firm behind the New York Stock Exchange Building annex. Construction wrapped in 1928

15 Broad was built for the Equitable Trust Co. and, for most of its history, referred to as the Equitable Trust Building.

The builder, Thompson–Starrett Co., created a unique L-shape that wraps around 23 Wall Street and rises 43 floors. Its facade is made out of grey brick stone, while the limestone base echoes the facade of neighboring 23 Wall Street.
