When they first saw it, the owners loved its coziness, the dead-end street, and the potential for renovation. At that time, the first floor was a rabbit's warren of small, dark rooms. They opened it up to the river view, expanded the living room capturing space from the front porch, and added new windows to fill the space with light. As they grew their family, they came to appreciate the excellent schools, bike path along the Charles River, the skating rink, and the freedom the bus lines gave them. The renovated basement was a great space for their children to spend time. The house always felt warm and welcoming; a wonderful place to host family and friends. Looking back, the home adapted to all stages of their lives-as a young couple, then with little children, then teenagers, and even when their adult kids came back to live with them, and then lived in it on their own.
