The Atelier at 33 West 67th Street is one of eight buildings that make up the West 67th Street Artists’ Colony Historic District in this most fabled block right off Central Park and a two-minute walk from Lincoln Center.  It was built in 1903-05 by Simonson, Pollard & Steinam, architects.

The Atelier has 34 apartments and a basement studio.  14 are family size apartments, and 20 are the smaller artist’s studios, of which Apt. 1RW is one. The artists’ studios all have large two–story windows facing North.

The Atelier has about 25 storage rooms which can be rented subject to availability.  About half are in the basement and half on the penthouse level.  These latter spaces were originally maids rooms.  Some have been converted into offices for use by shareholders. A laundry room in the basement has three washing machines and three dryers. There is a lovely, planted roof garden overlooking the surrounding historic district and Central Park for residents to enjoy in the spring and summer.

The building is impeccably maintained. It has a full time superintendent and a 24/7 doorman/elevator operator.  A closed circuit TV system with 4 camera locations is monitored in the doorman's booth and the super's office.  High speed internet is supplied to all residents free of charge.  A small monthly assessment to pay for Local Law 11 work is in effect until January 2015.
