138 Grand Street is six-story, cast iron Soho loft building built in 1869 that features a mansard roof and an iron-crested cupola.  Designed by William Field & Son in the Second Empire style for clothing manufacturer Charles Hastings, the building was converted in 1977 to a cooperative by a group of artists, many of whom live in Ironclad Artists Lofts today.  Current assessment is $377 per month.
