RealtyHop Scholarship Terms, Conditions, Guidelines, and Policies
The RealtyHop Apartment Scholarship awards up to $2,000 a year to eligible undergraduate students in bachelors and associate degree programs in the US (or a graduating high school senior matriculating to an eligible undergraduate program). Scholarship Timeline and Details
RealtyHop will award two scholarships of $1,000 per year, one corresponding to each application deadline, and optionally one or more honorable mention awards of lesser value. The two deadlines for the school year are April 30th and August 31st (Deadlines are repeated on a yearly basis). RealtyHop will notify the winners using the provided email and phone from the application within 30 days of each deadline, and RealtyHop will pay the cash award portion of the scholarship within four weeks of the notification. The non-cash portions of the award will be given at a mutually convenient time between the winner and RealtyHop, no more than 3 months from the notification date, with the exception of the optional internship, which may be scheduled up to 12 months from the notification date.
Eligibility
To apply for the RealtyHop Apartment Scholarship, you must be currently enrolled in an eligible full-time undergraduate program pursuing a bachelors or associate degree, intending to graduate within the next 4 years. Eligible institutions include any accredited university in the United States that graduates at least 100 students per year, or are listed as university or college programs in any non-part-time category in the 2015 online editions of U. S. News and World Report, Peterson’s College Information report, or the Princeton Review College Guide. Immediately family members of RealtyHop or LM2 Research, Inc. are not eligible to apply.

Judging Criteria
An internal team within RealtyHop management, the RealtyHop Scholarship Board, will select the winner from among the eligible submissions received on or before 11:59pm ET of each submission deadline. Selection criteria is at the sole discretion of RealtyHop Scholarship Board. Judging criteria includes, but is not limited to, how well the applicant answered the requested essay content, the likely impact the scholarship may have on the applicant’s education and career, and the logistics of providing a potential optional internship to the winner. By submitting an application for a RealtyHop Scholarship award, you give RealtyHop and its affiliates permission to publish your name on the RealtyHop website, social media pages, press releases, and other venues affiliated with publicizing the RealtyHop Scholarship.
Cash Award Reporting
Each scholarship award shall be non-transferable and will be in the form of a check made payable to the eligible institution of higher education attended by the recipient. Scholarship award recipients must submit proof of current enrollment at such institution in order for RealtyHop to remit the award. No cash equivalent awards will be provided. The award of any scholarship shall be contingent upon full compliance with the terms and conditions of these rules. If any RealtyHop Scholarship award recipient (i) fails or refuses, within ten business days of being notified of their selection as a recipient of a scholarship award to provide proof of identity, any required affidavit, or any requested tax forms (including IRS W-9 form), (ii) is found by RealtyHop to have violated the terms and conditions of these rules or (iii) otherwise does not meet the eligibility criteria set forth herein, such recipient’s award will be forfeited and an alternate RealtyHop Scholarship award recipient will be chosen. Any taxes owed by any recipient in respect of any RealtyHop scholarship award shall be the sole responsibility of the award recipient, who shall be issued an IRS Form 1099 in connection therewith.
Essay and Content Release
All materials in your application become property of RealtyHop and LM2 Research, Inc upon submission and may be reprinted and published on our website and related publications. You hereby irrevocably grant, transfer, sell, assign and convey, without reservation of any rights whatsoever, to RealtyHop, its successors and assigns, all present and future right, title and interest of every kind and nature whatsoever, including, without limitation, all copyrights, and all rights incidental, subsidiary, ancillary or allied thereto. RealtyHop shall have no obligation (express or implied) to use any application, or to otherwise exploit any Content or to continue the development, production, distribution or exploitation thereof, and RealtyHop may at any time abandon the use of any Content for any reason.
Privacy Policy and Use Of Personal Information
RealtyHop takes your privacy seriously. We ask for your contact information only so that RealtyHop can contact you to notify you that you have won a scholarship. We will not supply your information to any 3rd parties other than to announce the winner in a media outlet or publication.
Grand Disclaimer
RealtyHop reserves the right to disqualify any applicant who we feel has violated the letter or spirit of the rules. Any changes will be promptly posted on this page or on the main application page. In the event a particular winner is disqualified, RealtyHop will choose a replacement winner within 30 days and continue with the remainder of the official timeline.
