Maurel is currently President of the Board for AREAA (Asian Real Estate Association of America) Greater Chicago and is on the Global Council for the Chicago Association of Realtors. She has over 15 years in the real estate industry and was responsible for a multi-million dollar commercial and residential real estate asset portfolio which included a landmark status property. She was proud to have coordinated all the logistics of one of her property's participation in the inaugural launch of Open House Chicago presented by the Chicago Architecture Foundation. She brings expertise in marketing, operations, negotiations, property and construction management and has worked with some of the largest commercial real estate firms in the world. She provides services in luxury residential, commercial, global and investment properties. A native of Chicago, Maurel understands the different flavors and personalities of each of the city's many neighborhoods and helps her clients navigate the Chicago real estate market whether they are new and relocating to the city or born and raised here. Maurel is not just selling for the moment. Building long-term relationships is what it is all about for her. In this ever-changing market, Maurel keeps up with her industry's standards and will take her clients and teach them and show them what they need. The majority of her business is referral based, and it is important for her to keep her clients happy. Working together is vital to success. She keeps a keen eye and hand in broad-based advertising techniques and technology, which allows her to gain the trust of new and repeat clients, and provides extensive analysis and context to help investment clients with crucial margin decisions. Prior to joining the real estate industry, Maurel achieved success in the insurance, healthcare, and advertising industries working with leading companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield, Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, and DowBrands. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and majored in Communications and received her BS from the University of Houston in Professional Writing and Technical Communications. She lives in the North Center neighborhood and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Lane Tech Alumni Association, is a member of the Chicago Association of Realtors, Women's Council of Realtors, FIABCI, National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), National Association of Gay and Lesbian Real Estate Professionals (NAGLREP), Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP) and the Step Up Women's Network. She was a former instructor and choreographer for NonStop Dance Productions and mentors young, minority females. When not working, she enjoys golf, traveling, dining, and Chicago history and architecture. She is also a licensed insurance producer.
