Marty Walker

Licensed Real Estate Salesperson at eXp Realty of California Inc [email protected]
Marty Walker is a Los Angeles native who has been living and specializing in Downtown Los Angeles since 2011. He's passionate about Downtown L.A. and he's watching first-hand its vibrant renaissance. Whether a historic Mills Act property or a modern LEED certified one, Marty knows DTLA's residential buildings intimately. He's happy to share his knowledge, too. As a member of the invitation-only DTLA Real Estate Association, he's well-known and respected among the brokerage community. And in his spare time, Marty especially loves keeping close tabs on Downtown's exciting blossoming dining scene. Marty Walker came to real estate after twelve years of university music teaching and community arts administration. He began in the mid-nineties when he joined an investment real estate firm in Los Angeles to help build its hospitality and lodging division. A few years later, he accepted a position with a British music software company to open its U.S. office and pave the way for its first North American release. This blend of experiences has refined Marty's ability to build relationships, to be innovative and to communicate well, and to educate and help people move toward their goals.Marty returned to real estate in early 2002, but this time as a residential specialist. Since then, for over 15 years, he has been successfully helping people buy, sell or lease their homes throughout greater-Los Angeles. As their testimonials consistently support, his clients find him to be highly knowledgeable and professional, effective and supportive, and relaxing and fun.Marty is also an accomplished clarinetist who believes strongly in giving back to his community. To that end, he was a member of the chamber group the California E.A.R. Unit when it was in residence at LACMA (www.earunit.org), and he performed regularly with the L.A.-based Robin Cox Ensemble (www.robincoxensemble.com). He has also made several recordings for L.A.'s Cold Blue Music (www.coldbluemusic.com) and served as a consultant for the Los Angeles Philharmonic School Partners Program.Marty holds a Bachelor and Master of Music from the University of Redlands and a Master of Fine Arts from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). He has also studied in Austria at the Vienna Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
