High-profile positions at NYCEDC, as senior advisor at City Hall, and CEO of the Union Square Partnership allowed her to make a lasting impact on the City. As mayoral advisor she worked on real estate projects including MoMA and Lincoln Center expansions, Brooklyn Bridge Park and the High-Line. As CEO of the Partnership, working with developers, restaurateur Danny Meyer and businesses, she helped revitalize Union Square, now a hot spot for retail, restaurants and nightlife. Her work was a catalyst for the enormous growth now seen in the Flatiron, NoMad and Meatpacking areas. A NYC native, she has a B.A. from Stony Brook Univ., a Masters of Urban Planning from Hunter, and an MBA from NYUs Stern School of Business. Karen is on the Board of the Assn. of Real Estate Women, active with Hampton Library and her sons schools, St. Bernard's, Packer Collegiate and George Washington Univ. She is an advisor at GWU Center for Real Estate Urban Analysis and mentors new professionals. Karen enjoys being with her family, playing tennis, skiing, enjoying her weekend home in Bridgehampton and doting on her beautiful rescue dog Indiana.
