About Joanne Tavis

Respect is the foundation of Joanne Tavis' business philosophy. "When you have respect, you have everything," stresses Joanne, who feels privileged to live and work in the one-of-a-kind city of New York and enjoys helping families and others realize their dreams. Born and raised in Manhattan, Joanne started life in Hell's Kitchen before moving uptown. A current Midtown East resident, she understands people's varying needs at different stages of their lives, and tries to make the financial and emotional commitment of buying or selling a home a seamless endeavor. High ethical standards, honesty and integrity are at the heart of her relationships and are the cornerstones of every deal. While Joanne sells the city, she is a resident broker specialist for Southgate at 400, 414, 424 and 434 East 52nd Street and for Sutton Beekman at 433 East 51st Street. Her superior service and strong negotiating/closing skills result in the right property match for every buyer no matter where the location, however. Along the way, she provides a thorough education on all aspects of the market so their decisions are made easy. "I first tell people not to believe everything they read. Then I give them the most current information available so they're always well enlightened." Prior to her eight successful years selling real estate, Joanne spent 20 years in Medical Management and initially as a lab tech in oncology. When not working hard, she enjoys summers on Fire Island where she is President of the Doctors Fund and responsible for recruiting doctors to spend time on the island while providing medical care to the community. Joanne also supports Gilda's Club New York and Stony Brook Breast Cancer Research though an annual August fundraiser which to date has raised over $650K.
