About Gerry Burchard
Gerry was born and raised in San Francisco, California. He had a modest upbringing and learned to support himself at a very young age. He paid for his own high school and the University of California at Berkeley education. His senior year at Berkeley, he started working the Pacific Stock Exchange on the Options floor. The "Western Wall Street" taught him about making sound investment decisions, which became the foundation of an extensive career in financial advising, investment banking, international property development, and real estate. Upon graduation from Berkeley and after two years on the Stock Exchange, he took a year to travel the world. Gerry spent six months playing semi-professional baseball in the U.S. Virgin Islands then off to Europe. He hitchhiked from London to Cairo and then back to San Francisco. At one point he was living on a communal work farm, a Kibbutz, in Israel when war broke out between Israel and Lebanon. Gerry did all this on $ten per day; which required him to be very organized and resourceful. Two strengths that he applied every day in his current profession. Gerrys son, Michael, served nine years in United States Marine Corp (three tours in Afghanistan) and subsequently relocated to San Diego, where he joined him. His transition to domestic real estate was smooth, being named one of the top agents in Downtown San Diego during his first year as an agent, further proof that he can get the job done! Although Gerrys path to working in real estate in San Diego was anything but immediate and direct, his well-rounded experience is proof that he is not your average REALTOR. Gerry has nearly forty years of domestic and international experience in property development, financial advising, investment banking, account management, and real estate sales. Because of this, he will look at your entire financial picture to assist you in making the best choices to meet your personal budget and life goals. His diverse background also gives him a proactive and solutions based approach to business that is unique in this field. Gerrys successful track record in a multitude of fields shows that he has the dedication, credibility, and tenacity to assist you with finding success and stability in real estate, financial planning and/or capital investment strategies.
