About Ed Carp

Ed Carp

Vice President at Compass [email protected]
Ed moved to Washington from Long Island, NY in the summer of 1992. In 1997 Ed bought a 3,000 sq. ft. office space the corner of Kalorama and Champlain Streets in Adams Morgan (just off 18th St.) He slowly turned the office space into a pretty cool, industrial loft-type home and loved every minute of it. Buying and renovating that place changed Eds financial life, and he began talking various friends into buying real estate. In 2000, he quit his job and went into real estate full time. His goal wasnt just to become another real estate agent but to be a resource first-time buyers and take some of the fear out of buying a home. Ed is extremely proud of the way he has his business. Ed has a very committed cadre of clients, many of whom refer him to their friends, eliminating the need to advertise new clients. With sincere respect his clients, Ed tries to always be mindful of what a daunting process buying or selling a home can be. Ed feels very lucky to have found real estate as a career and doesnt take any of its benefits granted. Ed said that he truly likes real estate and that is why he does well at it. his free time Ed loves to travel: the more exotic the place the better. He has been to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Dubai, Istanbul, Bangkok, Singapore, India as well as many European countries. He has a friend that teaches at Oxford University, and finds himself traveling to England often, he loves everything British. Still on his list of places to visit are Shanghai, Tokyo, Zanzibar and sail the Amazon. Most of Eds clients are a well-traveled group.
