About David Melford
David has been full time in the residential real estate industry for 29 years. Five years ago, he created his own residential brokerage brand; Roycroft Realty and gained the unique challenging experience as a startup. He understands branding, niche marketing and logistics at a high ethical level. David gets the idea of doing everything locally and supporting small business. Born and raised in the North East LA and the San Gabriel Valley, David understands his neighborhoods, culture and landmarks at such a level that his clients feel like they are on a historical tour when showing buyers and sellers. Even if properties stretch from Glendora west to Santa Clarita, or from Valencia south to Monterey Park. After graduating college, David left engineering for real estate to invest and start with a heavy dose of commercial, income and rehab of properties until he found his niche with historic properties. He built his own replica Craftsman home on Christmas Tree Lane 10 years ago. After representing many landmark properties and serving on many local preservation boards, like Pasadena Heritage and South Pasadena City Cultural Heritage Commission, he decided to brand himself as a preservation agent. Before getting his broker's license, he gathered the NAR, Certified HAFA and Certified New Home Specialist designations. Being an artist for over 30 years and coming from an art-teaching family, David has been a drummer and percussionist over 4 decades, from Eagle Rock (LAUSD) until today, drumming in a blues band playing locally. David lives in San Marino, married with 3 young adult kids. He looks forward serving his clients real estate needs.
