Two quotes are the foundation of my approach to real estate sales as well as life in general. "Today a peacock, tomorrow a feather duster" and "Don't build the meal around the vegetables". The first I learned as a buyer at Bloomingdale's and for me, means that you are only as good as today's performance, that you cannot rest on your laurels and past successes. The second, a quote from my Grandmother, underscores the need to see the larger picture and to remember the goal. Details are important, but the tail should not be leading the dog. These two credos have guided me through 24 successful years, over 375 closings (38 of them in 165 East 72nd street) and has consistently placed me in Corcoran's prestigious Multi-Million Dollar Club. I am a listener, have been called a "stress reliever", and have customer-centric, non transactional modus operandi. As a result, the vast majority of my business is repeat and referral. A few years ago, my purchasers were on their way to their lawyer to sign the purchase contract. That morning another property came on the market, priced substantially lower and more in-keeping with their goals. I made the appointment and told them they must see this before they sign. They followed my directions and ultimately purchased this final hour property, saving $200,000 and reducing my commission a whopping 54% due to pricing and co-broking. No surprise, they have become customers for life and a strong referral source! I spent one decade at Bloomingdale's as a buyer and divisional merchandise manager, followed by a decade in wholesale design and production of accessories. During these combined careers, I traveled extensively in Europe and Asia, developing a tremendous amount of know-how in customer service, and deal making, as well as juggling a multitude of balls simultaneously.
