THE RESIDENCE

From the private eleventh-floor landing, enter the 11-foot square gallery of this meticulously renovated three-bedroom cooperative.  Facing north and west, the corner living room features a fireplace, windows north overlooking the limestone facade of 740 Park Avenue, and a western corner window with lush Central Park views down East 71st Street.  The formal dining room includes two north-facing windows, a hinged door leading to the living room, a second leading to the kitchen, and double-doors opening onto the gallery allowing for either private or open dining.  The gallery also includes a large public coat closet and lavish marble half bath.

THE BUILDING

Designed by Lafayette A. Goldstone in 1929, this 20-story neo-Renaissance and neo-Jacobean style cooperative was converted in 1945.  Featuring a two-story limestone base and red, Flemish-bond brick with stone detailing above, the side-street entrance on East 71st Street provides a more private entryway off Park Avenue.  There is a gym in the basement and full-time staff including doormen and an attended elevator.
