The Ardsley

320 Central Park West, aka The Ardsley, is one of Manhattan's most notable residential towers. It was built in 1931 and has over 200 apartments.

The Upper West Side building was designed by Emery Roth, the renowned architect behind other famous landmarks on Central Park West such as the San Remo, Beresford and Eldorado.

The Ardsley was converted in 1971 to co-ops. Today, it continues to maintain its white-glove aura and harkens back to the grandeur of the Art Deco era.

Its temple-like design allows for some of the most spacious apartments New York City has to offer, complete with  flowing layouts, entrance galleries, restored wood floors, high-beamed ceilings and tremendous closets.

Residents may also use one of the building’s two bike rooms and multiple storage areas. For recreation, there’s a children’s playroom, lending library and a state-of-the-art gym.

In case you want to venture out, Central Park is right across the street.

You can stroll down a quiet path, play tennis or run around the Jackie-O reservoir. Excellent shopping and restaurants are within blocks.

Perhaps Ardsley's most notable resident was singer and “EGOT” winner Barbra Streisand. She and her then-husband Elliot Gould lived in the penthouse for over 30 years.
