Part of the recent development in Long Island City, HERO is an Art-Moderne skyscraper designed by Silverback Development and Woods Bagot and opened in 2020. This stunning tower stands at 22 stories and sports 109 luxury units, each specifically designed to maximize natural light and stunning views via the specific and unique curvature of the building.

The building has many amenities for the residents here, including a rooftop deck with grills, a sky lounge, a fitness center, a yoga studio with a veranda, a multipurpose dining space, a Zen garden, and a pet spa. HERO is the first Art-Moderne building in Long Island City. Art-Moderne is a style of architecture developed in the United States in the 1940’s, and incorporates smooth curves, rather than the sharp angles of Art Deco, in order to increase style and wind resistance. Other Art-Moderne buildings include the Central Public Library in Brooklyn and the McGraw-Hill Building in Manhattan.
