~FernLedge~ served as the garden center for Frank Furness' masterpiece known as "Dolobran". Built in 1881, "Dolobran" was the country estate of Clement A. Griscom. It was designed by Furness in 1881 and altered by him in 1894. FernLedge was the idea of Griscom's childrenwho wanted Furness to design a summer house and suggested it be built on the stone footprint of Dolobran's  greenhouse.
