The Assessor shows a date of 1941 but actually this special home
was built during the winter of 1874-1875 by Joseph Olcovich for his
brother Bernard. The Olcovich brothers were co-owners of a
mercantile store in Carson. In 1885, George Meyers who ran the main
street grocery store bought the house and added the pillars, porch
ornamentation and bays. In 1948 the original kitchen was removed
and a two story brick addition was built in its place. George
