115 Central Park West is a steel framed twin-towered skyscraper constructed in 1930–1931. It was designed in the Art Deco style by architect Irwin S. Chanin and his associate, Jacques Delamarre.

It was christened “The Majestic” and became known for its futuristic sculptures — designed by Rene Chambellan — which adorn the front facade. It rises 29 stories, has some 220 apartments and is one of four buildings on Central Park West which feature two towers, the others being: The San Remo, The Century—also designed and built by Chanin—and The El Dorado.

Units boast spacious layouts, large rooms and windows with panoramic views. Residents will also enjoy the building’s white glove service (doormen, hallmen, concierge, porters and elevator attendants) and a long list of amenities: a rooftop solarium, penthouse terrace, fitness center, bike room, kids’ playroom and private storage bins.

Past residents of the Majestic include comedian Milton Berle, actor Zero Mostel, newspaper columnist Walter Winchell, fashion designer Marc Jacobs and television personality Conan O'Brien.

The Majestic also happens to be the former home of several notorious gangsters, including Lucky Luciano, Meyer Lansky and Frank Costello, who was shot in the building’s lobby back in 1957.

In 1988, it was designated a New York City Landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
