1000 Park Avenue is a gothic-inspired building located in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. It was designed by the late Emery Roth under the helm of real estate developer Bing & Bing.

The brown-brick structure was completed in 1916, topping out at 13 stories. The two carved figures in medieval dress near the main entrance are believed to represent the Bing brothers.

Today, 1000 Park Avenue has 60-plus units. Residents benefit from high ceilings, large windows and lots of sunlight (the low-rise buildings in the area keep homes well lit).

There is also a variety of floorplans, with some apartments having anywhere from four to teen rooms. Amenities include a fitness center and a full time doorman.

British author P. G. Wodehouse; James J. Rorimer, former Director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; and Nicola Kraus, co-author of the 2002 book “The Nanny Diaries” have all resided at 1000 Park Avenue at some point.

1000 Park Avenue is a short stroll from Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The 4/5/6 and Q trains are within close proximity.
