10 Gracie Square is a 1930-31 pre-war building designed by Van Wart & Wien + Pleasants Pennington in an Art Deco style under the watch of developer T.E. Rhoades Co. Inc.

It was once cited by Tom Wolfe in an essay as one of the 42 “Good Buildings” in New York City.  

Today, it’s a white glove co-op with 40-plus units, full time doorman service and attended elevators. Rising some 15 stories, it overlooks Manhattan's Upper East Side. Inside, it’s known for its sixteen-room triplexes.

The building’s affluent residents once had access to the East River for their yachts, but the construction of the FDR Drive eliminated that amenity. But there are plenty of other perks to enjoy: a driveway, garage, garden, fitness center, basketball court, laundry facilities and storage areas.

Prior residents include designer Gloria Vanderbilt, exiled former first lady of China Madame Chiang Kai-shek, media mogul Steve Ross and socialite Brooke Astor.
