As a nearly 150-year-old luxury co-op, The Dakota has gone through many changes during its time. Owner renovations have all but guaranteed the uniqueness of every unit, though some similarities can still be seen. For example, homes here can range from one to five-bedroom apartments, and most of those units come with a powder room.

Homes here are large and flooded with natural light thanks to the large, oversized windows. Hardwood flooring lines the homes, keeping things classy. Homes here have multiple extra rooms to be used as dining rooms, media rooms, or breakfast areas. Many homes come equipped with a dedicated laundry room.

The Dakota is a famous building for multiple reasons, but the most infamous incident was the shooting of John Lennon while he was exiting his home. He lived in the complex with his wife, Yoko, who claims the former Beatle is still wandering around as a ghost. The building rests on the Upper West Side, right next to Central Park, and is just several minutes from Lincoln Center.
